Our Board

The NWDA is governed by a private sector-led Board, chaired by Robert Hough. The Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Agency across all areas of activity. The Board ensures that the Agency has a strong focus on the themes, actions and priorities within the Regional Economic Strategy.

The Board Structure

Board members are appointed by the Secretary of State for the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS), formerly the Department of Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform (BERR). This is in line with the Code of Practice issued by the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
