Smart City Futures: Securing City and Regional Prosperity

Start Date: Tuesday, 21 July 2009 09:00
End Date: Thursday, 23 July 2009 17:00
Location: Lowry Centre, Salford Quays

This international conference will explore the consequences of the new economic environment for cities and regional economies in developed countries.

Delegates will hear how cities and regions in mature developed economies can shape their own future in the 21st Century and ensure long-term sustainable growth, from which an equitable distribution of prosperity for their citizens can be ensured.

The conference will debate how cities can distinguish themselves and make globalisation an opportunity and not a challenge in shaping and improving their futures.

The conference will draw examples from several UK cities, and will include an examination of The Manchester Independent Economic Review, and will discuss the economies of cities as they grow and develop.
