Public & Third Sector Partnerships
Conference
Date: Tuesday, 07 July 2009
Location: Old Trafford, Manchester
Time: 10:00 to 15:30
The role of the 3rd Sector is of key importance to the region in
strengthening communities, growing enterprises and transforming
public services. NWDA has been working with our partners in the
region, including Third Sector networks, on the development of
relationships with the sector to ensure that it can engage with the
regional agenda. A number of activities have taken place to
facilitate this including engaging the sector through consultation
on the Regional Strategy, the development of a regional compact and
research into how we should be working with the sector.
The aim of conference is to focus on moving this agenda forward;
it will have an important role in guiding the development of the
Regional Strategy and the actions of the NWDA and partners. It will
provide an opportunity for us to feedback on the conclusion and
recommendations of the research; and also launch the Regional
COMPACT. There will be opportunities to discuss the role of the
sector and the implementation of the research recommendations and
the Compact.
The event will include speakers from the office of the Third
Sector, SQW Consultants and a keynote address from the Commissioner
for the Compact, Sir Bert Massie.
The Conference is aimed at all those with an interest in the
future of the Sector in the Region, particularly those who support
the development of the Sector at regional, sub regional and local
levels in the Public and Third Sectors.
